Specific is the multidisciplinary creative design and production laboratory within BiM.
The collective is made up of artists Patrick Tuttofuoco and Andrea Sala, filmmaker, writer, and Le Iene contributor Nic Bello, and food designer Alessandra Pallotta; they were later joined by artist Gabriele Bianchi and artist and photographer Martina Ferrari. The group of creatives chose to bring together their different experiences, initially creating a site-specific project (from which the name derives) in dialogue with BiM, through the curation of the artistic and cultural activities within the complex.
From the very beginning of the redevelopment in 2023, Specific temporarily occupied the first floor of the Innovazione 3 building, housing studios and an exhibition space. In April 2025, with the reopening of the renovated Pirelli 10 building, Specific inaugurated a new exhibition space on the ground floor overlooking the BiM Garden, alongside new creative studios on Viale Pirelli.
Within BiM, Specific curates a program ranging from installation to design, from performance to cinema, from music to contemporary art. The program attracts thousands of visitors, fosters a dynamic creative and artistic community at BiM, and contributes to the debate on the Milanese contemporary art scene. The SPECIFIC team places particular emphasis on promoting emerging young artists and manages the entire creative and design process. Its practice is rooted in collaboration across different disciplines and sensibilities, generating contemporary narratives and forging new relationships with the contexts in which it operates. BiM thus becomes an experimental laboratory for contemporary art, a place to discover new voices and engage with multiple perspectives on reality.
